BB2 Update

BB2 (Baby Brown 2) and I had a great check up last week (4 26.10). I was measuring right at 16.5 weeks (they wanted to change my due date again, I said...not necessary :-) I get it. I'm due AROUND 10.10.10!) No weight gain for Momma yet, blood pressure still looking acceptable (good in my opinion, but what do I know!?) and the only fun thing we got to do this time was hear the heart beat, which was found RIGHT away this time....and was beating right at 150 beats per minute. I also had the opportunity to undergo the genetic testing at this appt....but we declined, as we did with Owen.
So...everything is lookin' good! I (FOR SURE) started feeling this little one move around at 15 weeks. Its like little butterflies...or a goldfish swiming around in my belly :-) I moved into maternity pants at about 15 weeks and...lets just be honest, its a much more comfortable way to do life. I'm happy, baby must be happy...good feelings all around. Our next appt is at the end of May and we'll get to have our ultrasound! So excited to take a look at this sweet pea! (but not the in between the legs area. I am unwavering I tell ya! :-)
Ok. That's about it for BB2 and I. Feeling pretty good....much less vomiting and while I still fall asleep by 10:00 PM on the couch, I'll be honest. I did that before I was pregnant, so I can't say that anything is much different. :-)

Toy Story Party!

So, I'm a little behind on blogging. (and laundry, but lets stay focused!) Facebook is a bit more user friendly, so pictures get uploaded there right away. Its just easy :-) However, in the spirit of keeping a journal, I need to get caught up over here on blogger. So, here we go!

Owen had a wonderful birthday party! We packed our house out (again, when will I learn?! 1600 sq. ft=NOT ENOUGH ROOM FOR FORTY PEOPLE! I'm clearly in denial!) with dear family and friends and celebrated in true Woody and Buzz Lightyear style. My child might actually think that he IS Buzz Lightyear. I'm not sure. I'm neither encouraging nor discouraging it. How many times in adulthood do you get to entertain the idea that you are a superhero anyways?! Not many for me! I'm pretty sure most of my days are filled with bill paying, cleaning, working, child training and ....well, I'm not totally miserable. We do have a date night here and there....and I do get the occassional trip to California with the girls, he he :-) Anyways. I'm just sayin'. If he wants to think he's Buzz Lightyear, its probably ok. Chances are, he'll grow up and have to do life just like the rest of us boring old adults! Whew! Rabbit trail! Here are the pictures! Enjoy! I can't believe my BABY is THREE!!!!

Owen-Three Year Old Pictures

Thanks again Amy and Brian for these wonderful pictures! We can't believe our baby boy will be three this month!

My gorgeous baby boy.....how is it even possible that you will turn THREE this month? I promise it was JUST yesterday that I was burying my face in your sweet smelling newborn skin, relishing every second of your babyhood and completely amazed at the love that I could feel for a little person that I barely knew. Your life changed mine forever.
You have the sweetest personality (minus normal three year old behavior that needs correcting of course :-)), you have a kind heart, a wonderful imagination and a irresistible smile and laugh! You are your father and I's greatest joy...biggest blessing and proudest achievement BY FAR! We can't wait for you to be a big brother in October...we know you will do a wonderful job with your little brother or sister and we are so happy that God chose to give you someone to grow up with.
We love watching you grow and pray every day that you will grow into a man that loves big and follows hard after the heart of Jesus! We love you Owen! Happy (almost) Third Birthday!

"Your better than the best
I'm lucky just to linger in your light
Cooler than the flip side of my pillow, that's right
Completely Unaware
Nothing can compare to where you send me
Let's me know that its ok
And the moments when my good times start to fade

You make me smile like the sun
Fall out of bed, sing like a bird
Dizzy in my head, spin like a record crazy on a Sunday night
You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh you make me smile

Even when you're gone
Somehow you come along
Just like a flower poking through a sidewalk crack
You steal away the rain and just like that...You make me SMILE

Don't know how I lived without you
Because every time I get around you
I see the best of me inside your eyes
You make me SMILE :-)

Baby Brown #2

Its a totally different pregnancy. Not that I didn't partially expect that, but I was of course hoping that I would get a repeat of Owen. Oh no.
Sickness came for me at about week nine.

I had a 12 week check up on Monday and I was down on weight (not really a big deal in my case) but I was severely deyhydrated and my thyroid levels still looked bad. So....I was given Zofran, and they've upped my synthroid again. Zofran...not a huge fan. I tried it, didn't seem to help so I doubt that I'll be using it again unless I'm severely desperate.

In happier news, Baby Brown #2 SOUNDED good. It took FOREVER, and I mean FOREVER for my OB to find the heartbeat...and I thought I was going to get another ultrasound out of the whole deal...but she ended up finding BB2 nestled on the left side of my belly. Heartbeat was fine....weirdly I was measuring "small" (like they really have a clue about that right now) so my due date was moved back a date....to 10.10.10! ha. Really though...like that means anything. I'm sure it will change 50 times before BB2 is born!

My next check is in another four weeks...but its just a heartbeat and measuring check (where I'm sure the due date will be adjusted yet AGAIN :-)) and then the fun ultrasound will be at the end of May. (where I will be closing my eyes until the technician says its ok to look because nothing will out the sex of BB2! :-)) I threaten all the nurses and technicians within an inch of their life if they let the sex slip...so they are plenty afraid of me by now! If they ruin my surprise, I will SUE! That's right!

Ok....well...that's it. Just trying to stay documented. I'm sure this was riveting reading for you all! Happy Wednesday!

Also. BB2=Baby Brown #2. Just in case you didn't catch on. :-)

Bell-Bells and other Owenisms

Owen calls door bells, bell-bells and I think its really cute, and I know I'll forget it so I wanted to write it down.

He can also sing the entire song "Jesus Loves Me" except when it comes to the part where it says "little ones to him belong" he says, "little ones to be him long"....again, its just really cute.

He called grapes "beeps" for a really long time. He doesn't anymore of course, but I don't think I wrote that one down either, but I'd really like to remember that one too.

We've been talking a lot about Jesus and bible related stories lately. I bought him a fairly reasonable Children's Bible after Christmas and while I haven't been perfect about it, we generally read from it before nap or bed at least 4-5 times a week. Recently we spent a lot of time reading about Joseph and his amazing coat. Somehow Owen got more focused on Joseph's brothers, and now when he is playing he says that he is one of Joseph's brothers and he is going to throw Joseph into the well. Hmmmm......ok. Well, at least he is paying attention?!

Our conversations about Jesus usually include how Jesus lives in Heaven, how much Jesus loves Owen and how Owen wants to fly like a bird to see Jesus in heaven, and that someday he will probably ("probably" is one of his favorite words right now) be able to fly. He will say: "someday mom, someday when I'm bigger, I will be able to fly". Ok Owen, but Jesus didn't make it so boys and girls, or mommies and daddies can fly. Birds can fly because they have wings, but we can't. Unless we fly on an airplane. "Someday mom. Someday". :-) Its cute.

Lastly, on the cuteness factor, explaining that there is baby in mommy's tummy is seriously confusing to Owen. We showed him a picture of our ultrasound and he asked us why the baby was black :-) Josh and I about died right then and there! Of course we explained that this was just a picture and when the baby comes out of mommy, he/she won't be black. Owen often asks me when I will be going to get our baby and if the baby has to live with us. :-) I tell him that after summer is over our baby will be born, and yes, our baby will have to live with us....in fact, the baby will have to sleep in Owen's crib. "Ok mommy. I can share".

He's the cutest of the cute. In between the whining, the throwing toys (this is a new one...."Buzz Lightyear has to FLY mom!"), testing the waters of disobedience....etc....I know for sure that my kid is pretty awesome. I'm a blessed Momma. Can't wait to see what our new little one will be like. Hopefully the terrible morning sickness that I've been enduring is no indication of the temperament he/she will have :-)

Big Brother

No, not like the TV Show....

Like, Owen is going to BE a big brother :-)
Blogspot is the last to hear our news!
We are very excited (and a bit fatigued and nauseous---me more than the boys :-))
I'm just at ten weeks and we are due Oct. 9! ( I'm kind of hoping for a 10.10.10 birth date...although NOT at the risk of another crazy induction :-))
I would write more, but I'm getting ready to go out the door for a girls weekend to California!
More updates to come....and just in case you wondering about if we will change things up and find out the sex this time.....NOPE! You'll just have to hate me for it! I love waiting! We're calling this little one our "gummy bear" since Owen was our "baby bean" :-)
More soon!

I'm a bad blogger

Since I've written, Josh has turned 30 (yikes!) and I turned 29. Here are birthday pictures:

We also got really excited to watch the Colt's/Saint's Super Bowl game. We were not prepared to loose! (still sad, still love our guys in Blue! :-))

That's about the extent of HAPPY things that have been happening in our house lately! We have all THREE gone through the flu, Owen has had his first experience with ear infections (and the antibiotic augmentin-which went terribly), and over the weekend I wound up in the urgent care with strep throat! Lovely! I'm ready for this winter to DIE....and the snow...well, for being a cold weather fan for the most part....I am OVER IT! We've all been to sick to enjoy it (play in it) and it just means longer commutes to work and ice-y driveways! COME ON SPRING! :-)
Ok. I will try to be a little more positive. There are a few more good things. Like:

1. Owen is 90% potty trained. I say 90% because he is completely accident free all of the time...BUT...he won't go #2 in the potty at all. He waits all day until I put a diaper on him at night. Lovely. I'm trying to be creative in how I address this and try and help him accomplish complete sucess. Otherwise, I'm thrilled that he has no problems throughout the day.
2. We made a fun (short) weekend trip to Xenia, OH to visit our friends, the Gross Family. The boys had a great time playing together (all five of them!) , Heather and I got to hit the outlet mall, and to end out our trip we got to visit Curt (who lives in Dayton) for dinner at Chili's.
3. Youth Group has been going really well, and I've been learning a lot from a series our youth pastor (Don) has done called: Modesty, Making Out and Marriage! Love it :-) It's been so good. Even though I am an old married woman, God has been teaching me some awesome things about purity. Its been good to re-visit that. I have a post in the making with some key points that I've taken away from the series.
4. I'm leaving for a girls-weekend trip to Santa Monica, California in about three weeks! Whoo hoo! Bring on the sun and the OCEAN! I can't wait! I do have to leave my boys, but it is just a long four day weekend, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

That's about it for now! We are all on the mend...trying to stay warm and healthy! It's tough! I hope to be back blogging about something meaningful soon!
